When Minnie was 5 years old her mother sat her down to discuss a savings account. She explained the concept as a box that Minnie would put her money in so that when she was older and needed it the money would be there for her. Minnie became a prolific saver. Every time she got birthday money or earned money baby sitting or helping out in the family landscaping business she’d sock some away for later on. Minnie comes from a long line of English gardeners, going back as far as her great-grandfather. Her mother likes to brag that she was instrumental in Minnie getting a job with The Millennium Seed Bank in London. Minnie somehow figured out a way to combine her two great passions: plants and savings! Her work helps to store seeds from every plant species in the world, providing a massive resource for conservationists and researchers
