Zeke is a climber. He spends most of his time in Yosemite and though he likes to free climb, he’s no daredevil. You won’t catch him trying to outdo Alex Honnold and he’s got no need to jump off El Cap in a squirrel suit like Dean Potter (he is an owl after all). His favorite area might be the Tuolumne Meadows, with it’s strong granite domes, spires and crags in breathtaking mountain landscapes. This is where Zeke often feels the most at one with nature. The delicate footwork and  friction technique required, not to mention the demanding crack climbs and faces truly appeal to him, and the thinner air and swiftly changing mountain weather don’t bother him. Like every climber he’s had his share of mishaps and falls: 3 years ago he fell while doing Cathedral Peak and had to be airlifted out. His ACD failed and he hit the wall on his left side before his backup kicked in. The skin graft left him with what he affectionately calls his ‘climber’s tattoo’, which he proudly shows off whenever he tells the story, but it certainly hasn’t kept him off the mountain.
