Randall grew up Baltimore, Maryland. He always thought he was born in the wrong place at the wrong time. He loved the water. A bathtub, a pool, the ocean, it didn’t matter so
long as water was involved. He started swimming early when his parents joined a
swim class at the local YMCA. All the other babies screamed with terror the first time they hit the pool, but Randall’s scream was pure joy. He started swimming competitively and trained at the North Baltimore Aquatic Club. He thought he might make the olympics one day, until another swimmer started training there, a guy named Michael Phelps? A torn
rotator cuff, not Michael Phelps, finally ended the dream. Randall spent some time as a water slide tester (yes, it’s a real job!) but ultimately decided to open a swim school. Now you can find him in his happy place, waiting to hear the screams of joy from brand new water babies!
