SHOSHANA
SHOSHANA
Shoshana (Shosh) always wanted to run When she was little she had pigeon toes, which for an owl is a double insult. When the condition didn’t resolve on it’s own, she had to wear braces to correct it. She spent her time reading up on training methods for long distance running, because she knew in her bones as soon as she was done with the braces she would be off to the races. And so she was. She started out doing 5 k’s, graduated to 10 k’s, and by the time she was 18 she had flown to Chicago and become a crowd favorite, She qualified for Boston, did London, Paris, and Japan. But her heart really flew in New York. Known for its challenging bridges, hilly course, electric atmosphere, and millions of cheering spectators, Shosh had found her place. She’s run the New York City Marathon 12 years in a row, and can’t imagine stopping. She no longer runs as fast, but as long as the wind is at her back and the crowds keep cheering, Shoshana will keep running.
